Welcome to the Kidney Transplantation Course by Lorna Marson and Robert Langer

This course has been developed as an exciting collaboration between ESOT and the British Transplantation Society. The content has been developed by the BTS President, Lorna Marson, and the Chair of EKITA section of ESOT, Robert Langer, created this course with support from expert contributors Adnan Shariff, Alison Glover, Bruno Watschinger, Chris Callaghan, Christophe Legendre, Frans Claas, Gareth Jones, Ina Jochmans, John Forsythe, Jonny Olsburgh, Josef Grinyo, Kate Bramham, Lucrezia Furian, Mortimer Kelleher, Nick Torpey, Nizam Mamode and Rainer Oberbauer. This course will provide an opportunity to advance your knowledge on the topic of renal transplantation, from developing foundation knowledge to building on advanced skills.

British Transplantation Society

For this course, you should take into account a time invest of approximately 14 hours to view and consider the 21 module lectures and 3 case studies, and undertake the associated quiz. Each quiz is arranged in a multiple-choice format, and after two attempts you see the correct answer. Once you have successfully completed each of the quiz question sets and surveys, you will be entitled to 13 CME credits. In addition, a selection of author-suggested e-books, congress highlights and publications accompanies this course. If you do not wish to collect CME credits, please note that none of the quizzes or surveys are compulsory. You may freely navigate the course in any order at your leisure.

In order to qualify for the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) credits, you are expected to complete the EACCME Self-assessment. You will find this assessment under the tab "EACCME Self-Assessment" in each module. After you have made the assessment, you will receive the certificate by email. Although recommended for further educational development, if you do not wish to collect EACCME® credits, please note that none of the quizzes are compulsory. You may freely navigate the course in any order at your leisure. Finally, to accompany some of the lectures and presentations, a selection of author-suggested e-books, congress highlights and publications are also available. We hope you enjoy this course.

CME Accreditation

This course, made available on www.ESOTTransplantlive.org and organised by ESOT, is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to award 5 European CME credit (ECMEC). Each medical specialist should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS). Only those e-learning materials that are displayed on the UEMS-EACCME website have formally been accredited.
